Gas transportation to Russia temporarily suspended

Under the State Program on Road Network Upgrading and Development (2006-2015), construction of Gandob-Khachmaz-Yalama-Russian Border Highway is conducted in Azerbaijan.Under the project, repair and technical operations are carried out in 7 points of the highway - in 133.8 km, 135.935 km, 137.278 km, 178.490 km, 178.860 km, and in 178.9 km, where it intersects with Mozdok-Gazimammad main gas pipeline. Construction works are conducted by AzerInshaatService LLC.

Considering the state importance of the project, technological conditions were changed; operating pressure was reduced to 12 atmospheres due to safety conditions. Therefore, Gas transportation to Russia was temporarily suspended.

In connection with the construction works at intersections of highway, gas leakage in the gas pipeline in 206 and 287 km was liquidated. Repair works are carried out by Gas Export Department of SOCAR.
