Baku Higher Oil School Vice-Rector awarded Meritorious Scientist honorary title

According to the Order issued on October 9, 2015 by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prof. Ramiz Humbatov, Baku Higher Oil School Vice-Rector for Training, Science and International Relations, was awarded honorary title of Meritorious Scientist for his outstanding service in development of science and training of highly qualified specialists.
Prof Humbatov graduated from Azerbaijan Petroleum and Chemistry Institute named after M. Azizbeyov (currently, Azerbaijan State Petroleum and Industry University) in 1967. In 1968-1971, he was involved in post-graduate studies in Moscow, Russia. In 1971-1984, he worked as a junior fellow, senior fellow, head of section and head of department at Baku branch of ''VODGEO'' All-Union Institute. In 1984-2012, Prof.Humbatov worked as Associate Professor, Deputy Chair of Department for Science, Professor, Head of Department, and Vice-Rector for Science and Engineering at Azerbaijan Petroleum and Chemistry Institute.

Since 2012, Prof. Humbatov has been working as the Vice-rector for Training, Science and International Relations of BHOS. He was awarded the Medal of “Progress” in 2000.

President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciates the activity of Baku Higher Oil School, which became one of the leading higher schools of Azerbaijan. This year seventeen students of Baku Higher Oil School admitted with 690-700 entry points were granted the Presidential Scholarship according to the Order issued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, on granting the Presidential Scholarship to students admitted to higher educational institutions in academic year 2015/2016.
