As it was reported by Gazprom Neft, a joint delegation of the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy of Bolivia, and the Bolivian state oil and gas company, Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) led by Oscar Barriga, Deputy Minister for Industrialization, Sales, Transportation and Storage of Hydrocarbons, visited last week Gazprom VNIIGAZ, the head Science and Technology center of Gazprom.
The Working Group was accompanied by Sergey Tumanov, Managing Director of Gazprom EP International Services B.V. (part of the Gazprom International Group) and Roman Kuznetsov, Deputy Director of the company's branch office in St. Petersburg. The delegation was received by Vladimir Lyugai, CEO of Gazprom VNIIGAZ.
During the visit, the Bolivian party was introduced to the research activities of Gazprom Group, as well its entire production chain that includes exploration and development of oil and gas, transportation and marketing of hydrocarbons.
The foreign specialists visited the three-dimensional visualization hall, corporate core storage, laboratories for of reservoir systems and bio-gas research, Museum of Science and Technology, as well as other units of Gazprom VNIIGAZ.
The visit was organized within the Road Map which was signed between Gazprom and the Bolivian part at SPIEF-2016 in St. Petersburg. This provides for, inter alia, the involvement of Gazprom’s scientific centers and the development of the concept for the creation of a Natural-Gas Industry Research and Development Center in Bolivia.
A knowledge of the research and production base of Gazprom Group will allow Latin American partners to identify the main areas of research needed for the creation of the Center, prospects for further implementation of joint projects, as well as the need to train its own specialists.
Gazprom VNIIGAZ is the leading Science and Technology Center of Gazprom. Scientific activity of the Institute covers virtually all aspects of the natural gas industry: exploration and development, including offshore, processing and routine preprocessing of gas and condensate, transportation, underground storage, the use of gas, the environment and energy efficiency. The Institute brings together 20 research centers, more than 60 units and facilities on its own experimental base.
