ROSGEO will perform parametric drilling of borehole No. 1 Bazhenovskaya. The corresponding state contract was concluded between the holding and the Department for Subsoil Resource Management for the Ural Federal District.
The borehole depth will be 3,200 m. It will be located within the West Siberian oil and gas province (the Tyumen Region, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District - Yugra).
The project objective is to study the geological structure and evaluate the oil and gas bearing prospects of the Mesozoic sedimentary cover (including the Bazhenov-Abalak deposits) and the contact zone with the pre-Jurassic series in the south-western part of the Lyaminsky petroleum province. Also, as a part of the study, the development of methods for studying potentially productive horizons will be carried out within the Bazhenov range.
Geologists will get a comprehensive lithologic-stratigraphic, geophysical, petrophysical, geochemical and hydrogeological characteristics of the section penetrated by the borehole, study the structure, mineralogical composition and physical properties of the Bazhenov-Abalak deposits, determine the type and properties of reservoirs, rocks, estimate the prospects of potential natural reservoirs on the basis of integrated interpretation of well logging data, massive and detailed petrophysical studies.Baseline parameters will be obtained for the preparation of methodology for the development of Bazhenov-Abalak deposits and potentially productive horizons penetrated by the borehole, and a systematized array of geological and geophysical information will be created.
The deadline for completion of the project is scheduled by late 2019.
