Total’s boss said on March 6, 2018, that the French energy giant expects to complete the takeover of Maersk Oil this week.
Speaking at a conference in Houston, Total´s chief executive Patrick Pouyanne said the deal should close on March 8, 2018.
Earlier Total said its portfolio would be complemented by the “world class” North Sea assets it was buying.
The £5.8 billion transaction was 1st announced in August 2017. It hands Total a 49.99% operated stake in one of the UK’s biggest offshore gas developments, the Culzean field, which is expected to come online in 2019.
Last week, Denmark’s energy regulator gave the nod for the sale to go ahead.
