DaimlerChrysler AG is going to buy a stake in China's Beiqi Futian Automobile Co. in order to expand in a truck market.
The deal is a part of an $1.1 billion investment. Recently the two companies decided to make cars and trucks in China jointly.
DaimlerChrysler will buy shares from Beijing Automobiles and Motorcycles United Manufacturing Co., Yang Ming, a corporate affairs official at Beijing-based Futian, said.
