Russia sharply increases gas transit through Ukraine due to repair of the Nord Stream
Kiev, July 17 - Neftegaz.RU. Due to the repair of 2 pipeline strings of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, Russia’s Gazprom has sharply increased gas transit volumes to the EU through the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS), Ukrinform reported.
“In connection with the repair of 2 gas pipeline strings of the Nord Stream bypass pipeline, Gazprom increased a request for gas transit to the EU through the Ukrainian GTS by 25%, or 60 million cubic meters per day,” the report of the Ukrtransgaz says.
As of the morning of July 17, Russia’s request for gas transit was 300.2 million cubic meters per day.
According to Ukrtransgaz, the Ukrainian GTS makes it possible to carry out repair and maintenance work without stopping the transit of gas.
