Nord Stream 2 and its chosen partner for concrete weight coating and pipe storage, Wasco Coatings Europe confirmed on August 22, 2016, Kotka and Hanko as the project’s logistics hubs in Finland.
Wasco will take over the existing weight coating plant and store pipes at the Port of HaminaKotka in Kotka.
The company will also use Port of Hanko’s Koverhar as a storage yard for concrete weight coated pipes.
Wasco is in the process of starting preliminary preparations for the planned storage area in Kotka, to be able to receive the first pipe deliveries at the end of September 2016.
The details of the coating and logistics contract are subject to finalisation and will be signed within the next weeks.
