PGNiG signed contract with Ukrtransgaz to store gas in Ukraine


Poland will be allowed use underground gas stores in Ukraine under a new deal on October 31, 2017, between Polish gas giant PGNiG and Ukrainian gas transit operator Ukrtransgaz.

PGNiG official Maciej Woźniak noted, that the company boosts its activity in European markets.

«The signing of the agreement with Ukrtransgaz is an important element of the company's activities aimed at strengthening our competitiveness in Ukraine,» Wozniak said.

The deal will allow PGNiG need-based flexible use of the underground storage.

PGNiG has been selling gas to Ukrainian consumers since August 2016.

Earlier this month, the companies signed a deal to allow PGNiG to use Ukraine's gas transit network, while earlier still, PGNiG, partnered with Ukraine's private gas trader ERU Trading, signed a deal for the supply of gas to Ukraine.
