Astana, December 25 - Neftegaz.RU. The national operator of Kazakhstan, KazTransGas, has launched a high-tech compressor station Turkestan, which will increase the export of Kazakh gas to China, New Europe reported.
The construction was implemented as part of an investment project to increase the throughput of the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline from 10 billion m3 year to 15 billion m3 per year.
«The operation of the new stations will allow the National Operator in the field of gas and gas supply to ensure maximum reliability of the process of uninterrupted gas transportation to the southern regions of Kazakhstan to meet the growing demand each year, especially during peak periods during the heating season,» Intergas Central Asia General Director Valentin Khvan said during the opening ceremony.
«Today, the need of the south of the republic for blue fuel is about 5 billion m3 of gas per year. Along with this, the volumes of gas supply to the trans-Asian main gas pipeline Central Asia – China significantly increase, which will increase the export of Kazakh gas to China,» he added.
The Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline is the largest pipeline project in the history of independent Kazakhstan and is called upon to play an important role in enhancing the energy security of the state.
The construction of the MG Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent has allowed Kazakhstan to ensure stable gas supplies to the south, create a unified gas transportation system of the country and increase the export of Kazakh gas to foreign markets.
