Moscow, May 7 - Neftegaz.RU. CNOOC Limited announced that Bozhong 19-6 Gas Field 13-2 Block 5 Well Site Development Project has commenced production.
The project is located in central Bohai Sea, with an average water depth of approximately 23 meters.
The main production facilities include a wellhead platform, with 10 development wells planned to be commissioned.
The project is expected to achieve a peak production of approximately 5,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2026.
CNOOC Limited holds 100% interest in this project and acts as the operator.
The company has intensified its search for more hydrocarbons in Chinese waters.
In March 2024, the firm made a significant oil discovery in the northcentral waters of the Bohai Sea, which followed the one the firm disclosed in the eastern South China Sea.
These efforts correspond with CNOOC’s business strategy and development plan for 2024, which outlines plans to step up oil and gas production, strengthen hydrocarbon reserves, and scale up natural gas exploration activities.
The Chinese player also intends to boost its energy transition journey to low-carbon and renewable energy.
