Abu Dhabi, January 31 - Neftegaz.RU. Al Yasat, a joint venture between UAE’s ADNOC and China’s CNPC, has started first oil production from the Bu Haseer 2 offshore platform in the UAE.
Al Yasat Petroleum is ADNOC’s youngest operating company and the first joint venture between ADNOC and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), established in 2014.
The offshore area operated by Al Yasat consists of fields at Bu Haseer, Belbazem, Umm Al Dholou, Umm Al Salsal, and Yaser.
ADNOC said that this was now the second production platform on the Bu Haseer field. The platform is poised to deliver 15,000 bpd and contribute to the company’s target of achieving 4 million bpd of oil production capacity by the end of 2020.
“The success of the Bu Haseer full field development reflects the importance ADNOC places on its long-term partnership with China’s energy sector and highlights our continued success in developing challenging and ‘marginal’ tight oil fields,” ADNOC said.
To remind, ADNOC in July 2018 awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the full development of the offshore Bu Haseer field to Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC).
