Belarusian Belorusneft to repair Arctic gas wells

Minsk, December 5 - Neftegaz.RU. Belorusneft-Siberia has won a tender to perform repair operations in the South Tambeiskoye gas condensate field, the company's press service told BelTA.


The gas condensate field is located on the eastern shore of the Yamal Peninsula in Russia. The proven reserves are estimated at 926 billion m3 of natural gas. Yamal LNG takes care of natural gas extraction, liquefaction, and deliveries.


It is a joint venture established by Novatek, the French concern TOTAL, the China National Petroleum Corporation, and the Silk Road Fund. The services Belarusian specialists provide to Yamal LNG takes include routine repairs and major overhaul, well completion, preservation, depreservation, and shutdown.


The set of services will take 3 years to complete. The press service explained that Belorusneft-Siberia already provided such services to Yamal LNG between 2015 and September 2019.


The team's technological resources and tools allowed the Belarusian company to win the tender and continue working in the South Tambeiskoye gas condensate field. The technological resources comply with all the requirements of the customer. The team also offers high-quality services.


The Belarusian Arctic team includes a total of 48 people, who use a fly-in fly-out scheme. The Gomel-based company Seismotekhnika has made a hoisting unit AP-80 this year specifically for this project. It was delivered to the port of the town of Sabetta by sea. It was moved to the South Tambeiskoye gas condensate field from there.
