Vilnius, August 20 - Neftegaz.RU.The Ministry has called on representatives of all interested parties to submit their comments and proposals on the draft technical specifications for the procurement of seabed (geophysical and geotechnical) surveys, as well as those for procuring wind, wave and meteorological conditions measurement services.
The technical specifications will determine the scope and quality of the services to be procured to obtain the necessary data that will be used in the offshore wind tender Lithuania plans to hold in 2023.
The Lithuanian government adopted a resolution to organise the tender in June 2020, aiming to hold the auction in 2023, after all the necessary actions and research have been completed.
The tender will facilitate the development and operation of a total of 700 MW of installed offshore wind capacity in the country’s sector of the Baltic Sea.
At the end of the last year, the government allocated EUR 7.5 million to support environmental impact assessments and other studies and surveys to be carried out from 2021 until 2023 that will inform the country’s 1st offshore wind tender and the subsequent project development.
Earlier this month, the government approved the conclusion of the Ministry of Energy on draft laws that are mainly related to the terms of the future tender and the limits of the responsibilities of the future developer.
The legislation would also enable the development of the 700 MW offshore wind project in the Baltic Sea, for which plans have already been approved by the government.
