33 people injured in a fire at a gas station in Novosibirsk

Explosion at a gas filling station Eurogas on Gusinobrodskoye Highway causes injuries on the evening of June 14

Novosibirsk, June 15 - Netegaz.RU. The fire and rescue units of the Russian Emergencies Ministry received a message about the ignition at a gas station at 18:04 local time.
At 21:03 local time the fire was localised.

33 people were hurt and 20 of them were taken to hospitals, 6 of them are in intensive care after a gas cylinder and fuel tank exploded.
The fire engulfed an area of 1,200 sq. m.

Videos posted on social media show a huge explosion from the spot.
The shocking video show a giant fireball shoot up into the air.

Most of the victims have burn injuries.
This was announced by the chief physician of the Novosibirsk Regional Clinical Hospital Anatoly Yudanov:
  • There are no combined injuries, these are only burn injuries
  • There is 1 child of 10 years among the victims
  • There are reserve places in the specialized burn department and the burn intensive care unit
The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case over safety violations.
